+theharvester45
I am a technology junkie but cannot figure out how to use my explorist 600, my computer, my vcr.... I want to download cache info to my explorist... I have GSAK and still cannot get it to transfer info to explorist 600... could some one give me step by step directions on how to do this. I loved my Meridian Gold but could not figure it out either...thought the explorist would be easier... I have sd card in place...I have figured out how to get to the files and have even put maps in the unit from mapsend direct route and mapsend topo...I just can't figure out how to add geo's in the POI files from geo cache.com please be patient with me...I'm not stupid just slow.... Thanks in advance... theharvester45 Link to comment
+embra
1. Filter or otherwise select the caches you want to upload in GSAK. 2. Attach your explorist to PC in file transfer mode, SD card. 3. Select GPS/export to Magellan Explorist 4. In the dialog window that comes up, specify a. required format (Explorist POIs or Explorist Geocaches); b. The path and file to create. You can use the browse icon at the right of the field to locate your Explorist. Make sure you get the right folder (My POIs or Geocaches) c. Give a name to the file. Mine ends up looking something like "M:\Geocaches\York.gs" d. Until you're sure what you're doing, use "%code" for Geocache ID and whatever smart tag you like for Geocache Name...the default is probably fine. e. Generate If doing geocache POIs, you may want to limit the export to 200 since that's all a single file can handle. Link to comment
