IE7 is final

Have you tried the patch utility? I haven't, as I just found out about it and am having PC problems right now.

Not the best solution obviously, but it might work for now. If you try it, let me know how it goes.

Q. My favorite websites don't load correctly, or don't seem to work at all in Internet Explorer 7. What should I do?

A.If you encounter a site which does not recognize Internet Explorer 7, a new tool known as the User Agent String Utility has been created to help you work around the problem. The utility comes in the form of a small executable that opens an Internet Explorer 7 instance that emulates Internet Explorer 6 by sending the Internet Explorer 6 user agent string. It also provides a mechanism for you to report problem web sites to Microsoft so that we can follow up with the affected site owners. Download the tool here.

Ok - IE7 is final as of today and the issue with broken popup images in logs on the listing pages is still there.

Or possibly try amore robust browser like Firefox or Opera.

That is a good solution (I use Firefox at home), but for the other 86% of people (source: CNN) who are on IE, it's not that great. Not to mention we aren't allowed using those browsers at work here.

Without looking at the code, I'm going to guess that it's perfectly valid CSS code which is broken on IE6, so a hack had to be put in to make it work. IE7 is probably encountering that hack, and even though it will probably render the valid code correctly on its own, it's being forced to used the hack and breaks. So, the only way to make it work is to remove the hack, but then IE6 will break...

Got a chance to take a look at this. It doesn't appear to do anything regarding that problem.

I which case GC.com should recognize the user-agent string that identifies the version of IE that the user is running and return the correct style sheet (with or without the hack, depending on the version of IE). Of course if the user has installed the Microsoft user-agent string utility mentioned above, the website will think that the user is running an older version of IE and the page will not be displayed correctly. If Bill Gates got a nickel for everyone that gets screwed when he releases new versions of software, he would be the richest man in the world <_<

Can somebody look into this.

Thanks!!

The image sizing had a CSS tag that gave each image an exact width of 110 pixels. All the current browsers apparently ignore this CSS tag but the new IE7 correctly renders it as chopped off. I have corrected the code on the development server and it will be available in the next patch early next week.

There was a similar issue on the map page that was easier to resolve without a patch.

So tell me if this is GC or Gates:

When I open a cache page, the first map link I click on is fine. If I close that pop up/link and then click on another I get NOTHING. OK, I get a flash and then nothing. Yet, if I leave the first map open and flip back to the cache page when I click on the next link it opens as well. Is it me, the site or IE7?

One very confused Loch Cache

Not happening here...map links open just fine, even the second time.

Just wondering, if some of those 86% might be Opera or Firefox telling they are IE.

For comparison, Wikipedia states that Firefox has about 39% market share in Germany and about 37% in Finland.
