+Belted Kingfisher
Is any one having problems logging on to their accounts? Both my account and my wife's account have this message You need to validate your account. If you have the validation code from the email we sent you, visit the validation page, otherwise you can send a validation email. If you click to validate your account you never receive a message from GC or Groundspeak. Both account are current and in good standing. Basic we are shut down for caching until we can validate one of our accounts. I also canot post e-mail to anyone through GC so I canot send a message to GC about my problem. Link to comment
+CO Admin
You can email Groundspeak through a regular email client use contact@geocaching.com Link to comment
+Michael
This may provide some answers. We need to invalidate emails that are bouncing because companies like Yahoo, Verizon and AOL will block all of our emails if we don't, because they call this due diligence to ensure we aren't sending lots of bouncing emails to their servers. Make sure that when you log in you use a valid email because that is where the validation letter will go to. You need that email in order to validate your account. Check your spam filters and anything else that may stop the email from coming through. If you never received your validation email please check your account information to be sure the email address listed is correct. You might also check your Spam Filter to make sure our mail is getting through. Edited January 27, 2007 by Michael Link to comment
Jeremy
We're looking at the mail server to see why validation emails aren't going out. We are currently seeing the same issue when testing our own accounts. Link to comment
+Ambrosia
So, I'm wondering what we should do? Will it just be fixed on its own, or will we get an email, should we all email Groundspeak or no because they know from this thread, or should we just keep an eye on this thread? <breathes in and out> Sorry, had a bit of a panic attack there. I feel like a half a person without a validated account. Ack! I've been caching for almost 5 years! I have a valid email! I'm being treated like a common criminal (no offense, Crim)!!! Elias
Due to the large backlog of Yahoo email and a mistake I made when fiddling with the mail queue , outbound emails from the site became stuck in queue. I've corrected the issue and all email is flowing normally again (with the exception of the large Yahoo backlog still waiting to go out and our continued issues with Charter). Elias Link to comment
+Ambrosia
Thanks so much for the help, you guys. I wasn't really upset, just joking. I'm never angsty about Groundspeak or the forums, so I wanted to take the opportunity to jokingly be angsty. There's enough of that going around. You guys rock. Link to comment
