Help, linking HTML files in Memory Map

Recommended Posts

I've got a problem linking html files generated by GSAK7 for use in Memory Map. This started orginally with the change from GSAK6 to GSAK7

I posted a query on the GSAK forum about this and got a response from Clyde on how to get the link to work correctly in GSAK7 (it's not quite the same as in GSAK6) for Memory Map running on my PDA, this works OK.

The problem now is that if it's correct for the PDA it's wrong for the PC, I'd like to be able to get the link working on both.

The only way around this that I can see is to generate two separate csv files in GSAK, import the PDA one into MM and export the mmo file for use on the PDA, then import the PC csv for the PC alone.

I'm sure there must be an easier/more elegant way, but I've no idea on how to do it.

Advice is sought.

I am afraid that is what I have to do as well - so if anyone can advise us of a better way I will be another grateful user.

I use

\Storage Card\GSAK\Cache\%code.htm

in the link box for the MM CSV export, which allows the same overlay to be used on PC and PPC to view the offline HTML page.

Cos I like cachemate for recording finds in the field I also have set up a custom URL in GSAK.

!CacheMate(GCcode)=cmate:%code

or

!CacheMate(smartname)=cmate:%smart

The "!" means the link is added to each HTML export page giving quick access to the relevant cachemate page from the HTML page...and it means your overlay works on both platforms (you just can't use the cachemate link in the HTML on the PC).

Great Joy, thanks to Rodz, such a simple solution, such a great result.

Not only does it work as I'd hoped but the overlay information can be exported straight from MM to the PDA

At first I couldn't get it to work then noticed the /%code.htm at the end rather than the xref.txt which GSAK adds.
