+PLnauta
With the increasing search for geocoin in caches and also increasing thief, I'm looking for some funny and alternative ways to use my geocoins. Can you give-me more examples on how to use and sharing them while also keeping them safe. Some examples i've allready found are: 1. Use as personal signature 2. Celebrate an ftf 3. Give a reward to a cache 4. ... PL Quote Link to comment
+Cheesy pigs
Well........ I'm about to turn myself into a 'trackable'!! I am threading a leather strap through one of CastleMan's cacher tags to use as a necklace, and activating it. I will wear it to all my events, and people can 'log me' Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
Well........ I'm about to turn myself into a 'trackable'!! I will wear it to all my events, and people can 'log me' I have a silver Sand Dollar coin which I've put onto a silver chain, in the same way. It makes an attractive pendant and many cachers don't realise it's a geocoin until I ask them if they'd like to log it. MrsB Quote Link to comment
+wutzebear
Same here with my Geo Dog Coin. Our dog will get a photo of the coin, glued to a small metal disc and laminated attached to her lace. Whoever meets us, may log her. I know for sure, she'll enjoy to be fondled. Quote Link to comment
CinemaBoxers
I have 4 geocoins and a pathtag on my keychain! LOL Three are for us (Jim, me and Joel) and another is a mini-traveling cache with logbook for people to sign! Another is a sample coin. But, I also have necklaces, etc... 0r0b0rus does an AMAZING job or wirewrapping these guys... Quote Link to comment
+res2100
Might not be caching related, but we sometimes use geocoins as playing pieces when we play board games. Quote Link to comment
CinemaBoxers
I forgot about the ones I don't like... coasters, or to level out tables - I put em under one leg - works great! (Tongue firmly planted in cheek) Quote Link to comment
+PLnauta
I forgot about the ones I don't like... coasters, or to level out tables - I put em under one leg - works great! (Tongue firmly planted in cheek) give them to me Quote Link to comment
+Steinwälzer
I have one on my keyring, too. And a GW Sunburst sits at my window, it's great decoration, as well as the two Earth Turtles sitting on an old piece of wood! I just got my cacher tags today, and I am thinking of using one of them as a necklace, too. Saw a picture and I think that's a great idea! Some of my coins are travellers, I gave some away to other people as surprise gifts, and in my (first and at the moment only) cache there was an unactivated coin as a FTF-price. And I have a cache counter coin which travels with me when I go out caching and which I log into every cache I find. If I met another cacher, they can discover the coin, but that hasn't happened yet. +moscow32
How about floor obstacles? That's where most of my coins are right now, while I "organize them". Quote Link to comment
+PSU Fan
My cats like to chase shiney objects....the coins make GREAT Cat Toys!!!! I put one on the floor and watch them bat it around the house. It keeps them entertained for some time. Edited October 2, 2007 by PSU Fan Quote Link to comment

I Met this cacher at a picnic this past weekend, and was Highly impressed with her (yes her) dedication to the trackables. She's a school teacher and seems to be one Very nice and outgoing person. And yes... that tattoo is very much real. Teachers just weren't that cool when I was in school, maybe if they had been I'd be in politics or the head of Microsoft. To keep this in the right forums thread, I will add that she seemed very interested in geocoins... Might be interesting to see what artwork shows up next. A Bugs Life Quote Link to comment
+forthferalz
I had the pleasure of being sprung by some newbs while on the hunt recently and it was nice to have a coin in my bag for them as an ice breaker. They make nice thank you gifts for event co-ordinators and prizes for events ( you can send them abroad as proxies for ones you'd like to but can't attend.) Organising a caching contest of some sort if you have a few you want to send out? Edited October 2, 2007 by forthferalz Quote Link to comment
avroair
See my profile below... they make great pond skimmers, especially the geotags cause they are lighter. Quote Link to comment

+0R0B0RUS
Here is something different. Gave this box away for Boy Scouts. I got the premade box for real cheap at Michaels then did a little finishing work myself. Pretty nice if you ask me. Quote Link to comment

+Dr. Whoever
I use mine in several ways. 1st: Travel Items (Over 300 in the geo-world). This is my favorite way of course. 2nd: We made a high end binder with some of the favorites for a coffee table conversation piece and it goes to events with me. 3rd: Oroborus made 2 incredible wire wraps for my CM 2007 Coins that I also take to events. 4th: Similar to CheesyPigs...I have cacher tags that I have made into travel bugs for my son and I 5th: The MEGA coin I ordered will be added as a feature to my truck to make it a traveler too. +PSU Fan
This is how I transformed 1 of my Cache Lei Geocoins into an operating key ring for my car and house keys. It can also be discovered by other cachers at events or by seeing my keys on the trail or during caching discussions. Edited October 3, 2007 by PSU Fan Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
I used to mail people my coins, upon request, that they could take out caching. Afterwards they would mail them back to me. Postage Paid. A few went to some awesome places carried by some very awesome cachers. Seems like a good idea doesn't it? Quote Link to comment
