Build 2.0.4807.4913

Instructions:

  1. Copy cab file to the pocket pc
  2. Click on the cab file on the pocket pc to install

The following fixes have been made in the current release:

  • ChangeMedia was changing media for any detail object. Needed to make sure the object detail showing was the object detail with the change media event
  • Getinput screen was not being removed if a Messagebox screen happened to overlay it. The engine still sends an implicit cancel, but, the getinput screen was still being displayed
  • Read from a list of media objects from the engine and find the appropriate media object type for ppc (for audio as well)
  • Added more fields to the cartridge detail page, username, version, target device
  • When an attribute was set while on the object detail page, the object detail page was not rebinding with the new data
  • Warn the player if a cartridge that is about to be played is not compiled for the device
  • Switching detail screens would only happen once, but, wouldn't repeat until a back occured

Can you confirm that there haven't been any fixes to the GPS support, or exposure of manual GPS config settings? I'm eager to try out the new version, but if I'll hit the same brick wall with my bluetooth GPS receiver, I'll just wait it out for the next rev...

As a reminder from previous threads, I'm running with a GlobalSat BT-338 on my AT&T 8525 (HTC Hermes) with WM5. Wherigo Player scans for my GPSr for <1 second before continuing on with no GPS signal. Google Maps, MS Live Search, and iGuidance all run fine.

Thanks,

Benj

We have not, as of yet, put in manual gps settings. One thing, I've found, is to make sure you have the gps running prior to running the Wherigo Player. The Wherigo Player uses an autodetect feature so if you have the gps running, it will find it. Are you using the Shared gps feature?

I can be happily Google Mapping along with a great GPS signal, exit out of Google Maps and try to launch the Wherigo Player and get no love. Or I can leave Google Maps running in the background -- same thing.

I am using the "Manage GPS automatically (recommended)" setting under Settings -> GPS -> Access if that's what you mean by Shared GPS feature.

I just now tried disabling it, then I went into Google Maps and set the manual settings to get it working again, confirmed it was good, exited Google Maps, started Wherigo Player, and voila. I'm golden. Of course getting the Player to play nice with the shared GPS feature would save users some hassle, but at least I'm off the sidelines now! Many thanks for the hint, David.
