Your sentence in bold above indicates to me a lack of consideration for all those on this forum who have been doing their best to follow your posts and reply respectfully.

...but if your so annoyed by trolls and grammer THEN DONT REPLY maby?!!?!?!?

That's me told then! I don't feel like taking the time to bother any further with this topic. My patience just ran out.

Good luck with your caches, if they get approved.

You know, for all the flak that the OP is taking on this thread (and some of it deservedly so, I might add), I must confess that I'd never heard of the term UrbEx before and initially thought that this was something he'd dreamed up all by himself. Now, I've come to realize that there does exist a well-established underground activity that often takes place underground and is even more underground than geocaching! So, while I myself will probably never partake of the peculiar delights of UrbEx (I'm more of an above-ground person myself), I want to thank Crab Soul for both educating and entertaining me on a topic that is obviously more stimulating to him than the vagaries of mere spelling and grammar. :)

I'm sorry to see the tarring and feathering that the OP took here on this board.

Really? So it doesn't bother you at all that a person, who has neither hidden or found a single cache, has no plans to ever do so, and is advocating a hobby of illegel breaking and entering of buildings, just spouts off what ever they want here?

I thought this was a forum about the different permutations of geocaching.

As for the tar-and feather treatment, I was even willing to extend the hand of help, but he has bitten the hand of many others in this very thread. He is here strictly to stir the pot and gain attention for himself. A classic troll.

Personally, I think he has been reather well treated to this point. I can think of many different messages he would recieve on other boards.

hey. i was just trying to get urbex geocaching across. other people got upset with my grammer.

No crab soul. again you miss the point. You came onto this board talking about how "illegal" this new type of caching would be and that it was coming regardless of what we wanted. You came across as rude and demanding. When people responded to your OP, you replied with more of the same. "screw what you want, this is underground and illegal and it cool and everybody wants it." That was a paraphrase, not a direct quote. Among this bad behavior was the horible spelling and grammer. When that was mentioned, you became even more beligerent.

So, the ball is in your court. Feel free to do some real geocaching or not. Feel free to ask question ans post ideas. Just do it in a respectful manner. We are adults here, and we try to act like it (most of the time).

I DONT EVER break and enter.

the only part that i ever was thinking was illegal was going into abandoned buildings and stormdrains.

but aparently im wrong about that so they arent illegal at all.

i dont enter places with a no tresspassing sign either.

if i could re edit my origional post i would.

And BTW, capitalization and punctuation are not outdated. They are signs of education and intelligence. Not saying mine is anywhere near perfect, but most people who are beyond middle school find the online use "text speech" boerish.

have they abandoned grammar in afrikaans?

Dang it, I wanted to respond to you in Afrikaans, but all I can remember at the moment is: "Slaap lekker, Ek saal yay in de morrow seen".

And I know I miss-spelled a lot of that!

And moto momma, it is BOERISH. It is a British word that comes from South Afrika. During the British rule in the early days, they hired Dutch workers. They were called Boers (pronounced BOO-ERS) They looked down on the them as being rude, crude, uneducated, and a lot of other words. So when talking about bad behavior, it was said to be "boerish". So there you have it.

For the manner in which the word was used, the correct word in English is "boorish".

I'd love to reply to this, but I have no idea what it says. Could someone translate this to English please? :)

*pushes up sleeves* Make way! I can do this. I have a LIVEJOURNAL.

"It's not that I don't know [how to properly write]. It's that I do not feel like taking the time to do it. Stop whining about grammar because I will never stop [writing improperly]. Writing this statement should prove my point."

can we just get this thread taken down? im tired of this crap...

This is great comedy! It is much analogous to the OP entering a room, pooping everywhere, and then whining loudly: "can someone get me out of this room? im tired of this crap..."

Quite amazing! Now I am wondering if he is one of those urban explorers who leave their poop behind in buildings and abandoned infrastructure (as well as in-use infrastructure) while "urban exploring".

In any case, IBTL.

From the forum guidelines:

Forum courtesy: Please treat Groundspeak, its employees, volunteers, fellow community members, and guests on these boards with courtesy and respect. Whether a community member has one post or 5,000 posts, they should be treated fairly.

The only proper basis for flaming the OP is due to his potty mouth, and that issue has already been addressed. How about we talk about Urbex Caches?

I couldn't be bother to reed beyond what I highlighted.

I respond to both colors with...

How do you know?

Blue:

Where did he advocate B&E, granted "Unlawful Entry" is illegal but it is not the same. In fact UE is a lesser crime.

Red:

Are you trying to tell us that you are telepathic? I feel your assessment may be correct but how do you know it is?

Do you know every site that lists geocaches and know every pseudonym Crab_Soul uses?

Heck I assume that only 25% of the forum posters don't have puppet accounts, 25% do and the last 50% are.

Out of the puppet accounts I think that 90% belong to vinny so he can lull people into a false sense of security and tell him what they know about the MIB but that's beside the point.

Next your gonna say my opinions are invalid because I only have 89 finds and 2 hides on this site.

Then I'll tell you I have over 20 experience years hiding and finding small containers even though this digital version isn't even 10 yet.

One last thing, maybe Crab_Soul is a troll but then again it could just be a personality trait.

If he is, why feed him by getting twisted outta shape?

I go back to finishing the thread now.

you know, i've been reading this thread with much amusement and my opinion of whether or not the OP is getting what he deserves is swinging like a sunfish boom in light and variable winds.

i think that when the OP stated that urbex was not for anyone, it was the juvenile equivalent of saying "it's cool and people would like it". his failure to be articulate in any marginal functionally literate way impedes his ability to be understood, which only leaves his readers impatient and grumpy and his point entirely unclear.

perhaps the OP might consider this sufficient motivation to write so that his meaning might be deciphered? i don't use caps either, and yet i manage to make myself understood. a little grammar goes a long way.

if you are going to purposely obscure your meaning, you have no right to complain that people don't understand you.

so.

is your point that legal urbex caches would be good? or that they're not? is your point that it would be bad for urbex or caching to combine the two? or that it would be good? is your point that it's possible to combine the two legally and responsibly, or not?

it will be helpful to the discussion if you could articulate your position so that we might tell what it is and subsequently comment. failing that, many of us perceive a certain lack of respect on the part of a person who can't be bothered to make his meaning clear and expects us to do the work for him.

if we can't tell what your point is, we have nothing with which to work besides your grammar, or lack thereof.

Oh no! A record has been set! Or perhaps, a record has been broken! flask, in her post above, actually used two uppercase letters in typing the word "OP"!!!

Amazing! Bizarre! Fantastic!

The world will never be the same, for the ancient prophecies have long foretold that certain stupendous events would happen, and that their happening would first be be foretold when the following events or sightings occurred in short order:

  • balrogs are in the woodpile
  • a dead canary is found on the corner
  • flask uses uppercase letters in a forum post
  • strange beings are sighted in the East

Wow!
