cenotaph
I'm one of those weird types that prefers the ISO 8601 date format - YYYY-MM-DD. If that could be added to the date format selection list.... Link to comment
marnord
Yes, I agree. Geocaching is an international hobby. US style date format mm/dd/yy leads to many misunderstandings, because standard format almost anywhere else is dd-mm-yy or ISO standard yyyy-mm-dd. Link to comment
Elias
As we move the site to .NET, it is one of my design goals to provide better localization options (like date format preference) for our international users. I don't have any realistic timeline for when this will happen, but expect to see this option in the next version of the site. -Elias Link to comment
+Waterboy
If we change the date format, should we also change the distance to nearest cache format? Only in the United States are we using miles, everyone else uses metric. Link to comment

Yes, that is one of the many changes that are planned as part of providing better localization options for the site. Link to comment

I wish everyone (who used the Gregorian Calendar system) would use this format. It's the best! Edited November 12, 2007 by caldini Link to comment

We all want a date format that we don't have to think about, preferably the one we use every day. Link to comment
