Guest Gossamyrrh Posted July 23, 2001 Share Posted July 23, 2001 If Project A.P.E. touches down in the south, particularly in Georgia, who do you think will get to it first, bent_twigs or Erik88l-r? Quote Link to comment
Guest ALacy Posted July 23, 2001 Share Posted July 23, 2001 Remember bent_twigs lives in north Tennessee, almost Kentucky. Also I am sure a large number of cachers who don't try to be first on regular caches would try for an A.P.E. cache. Quote Link to comment
Guest erik88L-R Posted July 23, 2001 Share Posted July 23, 2001 My money's on bent_twigs, but I wouldn't be surprised if Goss swoops in and beats us both to it! Quote Link to comment
Guest Gossamyrrh Posted July 24, 2001 Share Posted July 24, 2001 I dunno...I don't have a M-F schedule anymore, so it might be difficult! But I will darn sure try!! Quote Link to comment
Guest PharoaH Posted July 24, 2001 Share Posted July 24, 2001 I work from home and would be really tempted to "sneak out" and chase an A.P.E. Quote Link to comment

Guest PharoaH Posted July 25, 2001 Share Posted July 25, 2001 I can just see myself forwarding my business line to my cell phone, replicating Lotus Notes to my laptop, and heading out to God knows where... All that and I still wouldn't find it - everybody knows Cleopatra is the one who always finds them! Quote Link to comment
Guest Gossamyrrh Posted July 25, 2001 Share Posted July 25, 2001 Well *I* didn't until you said something!! Quote Link to comment

Guest mrmaxx Posted July 25, 2001 Share Posted July 25, 2001 Hmm.... interestingly enough, this appears to be a (pardon the pun) "gorrilla" marketing ploy by Fox Studios. I wonder if this is the first use of Geocaching for commercial purposes???? AFAIK, it is... :-) ------------------ --BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK-- Version: 3.12 GCM d- s+:+ a C+++ UL++ P+ L+++ E---- W+ N++ o K- w-- O-- M- V-- PS+ PE Y+ PGP+ t+ 5++ X+ R tv b++ DI+++ D++ G e++ h-- r++ y** ---END GEEK CODE BLOCK--- Quote Link to comment

Guest klgraves Posted July 26, 2001 Share Posted July 26, 2001 Anywhere in the Carolinas would be nice! Are there any other cachers in Charlotte watching for it? Quote Link to comment
Guest adventuretom Posted July 26, 2001 Share Posted July 26, 2001 I'm watching it. Quote Link to comment

Guest PharoaH Posted July 27, 2001 Share Posted July 27, 2001 Ahh Rat Fart! hahaha I didn't get home till after 1:00 pm to see the cache listed. Nobody had logged it yet, and it was about 6 miles from the house. Anxiously and optimisticly I headed on out there. We found it, but were the 4th. The adrenaline rush was a blast though! Also met Chas of ChasMargZachCaro. Very nice person, like all geocacher are! Quote Link to comment
Guest Gossamyrrh Posted July 27, 2001 Share Posted July 27, 2001 I was going to scope that area for a possible cache, although i was planning on using the other side of the road. I had also considered heading out and sneaking in tonight....but that area is no place for a lady, or myself for that matter, to be after dark! I'll hit in the morning. Quote Link to comment
Guest mtn-man Posted July 27, 2001 Share Posted July 27, 2001 I saw bent_twigs coming at me as I got close to the cache. Quote Link to comment

Guest Gossamyrrh Posted July 28, 2001 Share Posted July 28, 2001 It tooke me longer to drive to the cache than it did to find it. If we want this cache to thrive after the hoopla is over, we are going to have to make an effort for it to do so. I wonder if 20th Century Fox wants to send more promotional materials to the existing caches for other movies. Quote Link to comment
