I would like to get on the mailing list for caching software development. If the mailing list is no longer in operation could you please direct me to a location to get additional info.

Thanks..

Just like there is no spoon, there is no list.

(I think the original intent was to make one, but they never did or make the sandbox they discussed)

Do start following this discussion, though, as sometimes important things are posted here by TPTB.

Is there a mailing list? If so, please add me.

Thanks!

As many people have said in the past: no. There is no list.

Groundspeak has never created a list. Maybe they will in the future, but they haven't yet.

(On very rare occasions they've make announcements about XML changes, etc, here.)

Why not setup a bug or issue tracker to gather bug reports and feature requests / new or changed features.

I don't think this was a rhetorical question.

Why ISN'T there a formalized process for these requests? All I have seen so far is members and the occasional moderator bat around ideas in the forums. Conspicuous in their absence in these discussions are any Groundspeak employees....

Can disabled caches and archived caches get included in pocket queries. This way I can keep GSAK up to date. Happened twice today I hit ground zero looking for a cache with my gpsmap looked around then checked the cache status on my phone to find out it had been disabled or archived.

FYI, this request has been made many times and has thus far not been fulfilled by Groundspeak. However, many GSAK users have developed workarounds for the fact that archived caches are missing from the Pocket Queries (temp disabled caches are included in Pocket Queries and their status in GSAK will be updated when you load the GPX file). Click here for an old post in these forums that outlines the basic idea. Click here to visit the GSAK forums where you can search for other methods, find automated macros that make things easier, and ask questions of experienced users.

Disabled caches are not excluded from PQs, unless you've selected not to receive them.
