Very Special Adventure!

I am looking for a caching partner to share expenses on a geotrip to the southwest (the four-corner states of AZ-NM-CO-UT) in July, August, or September.

It could be either 4-5 days by plane (about 20-25 smilies) or 13-15 days by car (over 100 smilies… which could very easily include Nashville for even more finds).

This is a one-time adventure. Call me at 516-616-4202. Or e-mail me: zbilicki@usa.net

For ongoing weekly adventures, keep reading.

Let me introduce myself… I am The_Z_Man from Long Island, NY. You are invited to join my in-the-field adventures on how to cache more efficiently. Some might call these classes or even courses in Geocaching… I prefer adventures. This is my effort at giving back to the Geocaching community some of what it has given me.

But you ask “how do I know I won’t be wasting my time?”

Here are my credentials as of June 4, 2005…

1,788 caches found in 44 states plus Washington, D. C. since July 2003.

Rank by caches found: #1 on Long Island, #2 in New York State and 167th in the world.

Overall average of about 2.5 caches per day… and in recent months it has increased to about 5 caches per day on average. This is done in just two (rarely three) days of caching per week.

When caching by myself… 10-15 finds in a day is routine… with another cacher 15-20… with THREE in the hunt 25-30 finds is normal. The last time FOUR of us hit Pennsylvania we got 38 smilies (finds) added to our totals in one day.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS.

All adventures leave my house in my car… no caravans (you can’t learn if you are not in the car). Maximum of four persons per trip (from here on I will use adventure, class, course, and trip interchangeably). I have a large car and four persons ride very comfortably. There is ample all-day parking on the street for your vehicle near my home on the Queens-Nassau border where I live with my wife, the lovely InkyCat, who has been very helpful with this project.

On Mondays through Saturdays there are two basic types of adventures. Take your pick.

1. All day from before sunup to after sundown… into CT, NJ, PA, or upstate NY, for those who primarily want to add to their numbers and learn how to cache efficiently on their own.

2. A much shorter day with under one hour drive time… for those who primarily cache to see and enjoy new sights (numbers are secondary)… but still want more finds.

Sunday afternoons will be reserved for those who just want to talk high-tech Geocaching and stay on the Island or go into the City… hit a few caches and learn (all of us from each other).

All you need to bring to any of these classes is your GPSr. I will supply (and demonstrate) all the greatest Geocaching software and hardware.

I understand that the above will not appeal to all… and maybe not even to most. But I do know that some of you will love it.

I have received a number of phone calls and e-mails over the past several months asking for advice on the use of various software programs and on what equipment to purchase. Frankly, I wasn’t able to do very much over the phone. There are just too many variables involved.

But I know that this personal contact will be productive. It will get your questions answered… on how to find caches more efficiently.

I’m sure some of you will want more information. I am a person who likes a phone call. Call me at 516-616-4202. Or e-mail me: zbilicki@usa.net

Or e-mail your phone number and I will call you.

Let me know what kind of adventure you want AND on what day of the week you want to go. I look forward to your call.

I suggest you leave it open and just get things more on topic (with a mod's help if need be).

You didnt mention charging for this; if you are doing it for free, just to help the newbies, thats a really wonderful thing.
