+Phil and Ruth
Thinking about records I was wondering if there is a record for the greatest distance between caches found in a single day (24hrs)? If not you could have several sub-records: Greatest agregate distance (many caches), with and without air transport Greatest distance between two caches visited in one day, with and without air transport Distance would be defined as the straight line (great circle) distance between the published co-ordinates of the caches. +Belplasca
Well, I did "Mole's Secret High-dout" in Kent and "A Fine View" in Cornwall on the same day (5th September 2004) as part of my "Kent to Cornwall" run - they are 204 miles apart according to GSAK. However, I managed to cover about 650 miles in one day going for the FTF on "Missing in Lancashire" 0n 19th June 2004... (I'm in London, and this cache requires the collection of two TBs and finding 2 caches before it can be found...) Do they count? Oh, I'm a single cacher - so I drove all the miles myself... Nediam
I decided on November the 5th last year, to go on a "mad" mission and retrieve the Stencil Stash TB No. 1 which had been stuck there for a month. Started my trip Near Lichfield, and stopped off on the way at Deep Joy to get Stencil Stash TB No. 3 and then headed on to The Eglinton Buddah (near Glasgow). I picked up the No.1 bug and dropped off the No. 3 bug (just to be nasty! ) and then head back home. Distance between the two caches was about 290 miles. Total distance for the day was about 650 miles and took about 14 hours of driving (all on my lonesome ). Big bonus was the amount of fireworks and bonfires I saw on the way up! Quote Link to comment
+2202
AntarcticMan did Pillar To Post GCG43T (Peterborough UK) and Mutton Box GCM9FA ( Massachusetts USA) all on the same day to celebrate his 100th! Some 3200 miles apart. Edited August 5, 2005 by 2202 Quote Link to comment
