Geocache Adoption

I think that there should be a portion of the geocaching.com website dedicated to cache adoptions. People that want to get their caches adopted would submit their waypoint ID, and it would show up on the list. If you wanted to adopt a cache, you would be able to see a list of caches that need adoption. If anyone has any comments about this, please respond.:blink:

What is the format of this.  We have been tring to transfer a couple of caches and just get a reject notice.  Something like "You have not been asked to adopt this cache.

The current owner of a cache must "offer" it to you. Then you go to the same page to "accept" the cache.

LD, people are getting this when they are trying to adopt the thier caches out to someone else. Thus, the problem.

There is an issue with adoptions which does not relate directly to the original post. So to get it back on track, here's the issue:

A flat out "anyone can adopt this cache" proposal is a Bad Idea, but I could see a place where people could go and post a request to have their listing adopted. However posting this information on the cache listing itself is a far simpler (and existing) solution that hits most of the bases. It doesn't exactly broadcast the adoption request but it works pretty well. Also posting to the organization sites and/or regional forums work well too. Those are where you'll find the most active geocachers in your area anyway.
