+Merel
I want to develop some coins for the Belgian caching community and was wondering if there are some templates or even freeware to do this ? Quote Link to comment
+junglehair
Adobe Photoshop lets you download a 30-day trial version of their program - that might help. Glad to hear there's a Belgian coin in the works - looking forward to it! Quote Link to comment
Not So Lost Puppies
Not that I'm aware of. I'm sure that many coin designers have their own templates (or just blank images) for designing coins. I sort of have something like that. I've been using Paint Shop Pro for the designs I've been working on. It isn't quite as sophisticated as some of the others, but it gets the job done for me. Pretty much any drawing program can be used, some have features that make some parts easier to do than others. You could try the Draw program that is part of OpenOffice.org for a start. I don't know it as well as PSP, so I haven't tried to do much in it yet. Quote Link to comment

+fox-and-the-hound
It's certainly not free, but Illustrator and other vertice producing programs go a long way toward keeping your original artwork all the way to the end. Bitmapped art has to be re-drawn by the coin producer's artists and will probably never be exactly the same as your original creation. Quote Link to comment
+9Key
Are you asking for a software program or an image template? If you want image templates, try these: { link } - { link } Quote Link to comment

+fox-and-the-hound
I might be starting something here...but why don't you post a rough sketch or written idea and offer a couple coins to whoever submits the design you decide to go with? It would be interesting to see what came through and you might get a better design from multiple minds trying to help you out Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
I might go for that. Got a couple in waiting. Quote Link to comment
ParentsofSAM
I kinda did that and one cacher made something beautiful out of my idea and I asked him to help me with the whole thing and he said yes, so now he is working for coins.....I could not be more appreciative!!! Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
Well here is one for Merel. How about for the group a shaped coin. I really like this one. The Big Foot coin brought it to mind. It could be tied to the end of a spear. Please if you use them send me some coins. Quote Link to comment
