+MustangJoni
I just noticed they changed the personal coin icon. I don't know if I like it yet. Will ya'll let me know if I do? Quote Link to comment
H to the Bizzle!
Just noticed this. It looks like the icon is also shared with the HC and Oklahoma geocoins. Quote Link to comment
+robert
I think they may have mixed it up. That was probably supposed to be a new USA geocoin.... don't know why a non-US personal coin would say "USA" on it. Quote Link to comment
ParentsofSAM
I do not like it. Why does it say USA? I hope it is a work in progress. Quote Link to comment
+badger
I am disgusted that an organisation that is supposed to represent the international community has chosen a National ID to represent the personal coins of their members, many of which are not based in the USA. This is nothing against the US, but as a UK resident I do not want something I have paid for to have an icon such as that! I expect Groundspeak to return the original PC icon as a matter of urgency. To be perfectly honest, I think it is shortsighted and insulting for groudspeak to make this change without any real thought for non-US residents. Disgusted Cacher, UK Quote Link to comment
+Prairiepartners
I agree, Icon if changed should be tied to a nation, after all it is for personal geocoins. Quote Link to comment
+Team Maddie UK
I agree with Mattwaggie It is not representative of geocachers from all over the world who have Personal coins. Unless of course Groundspeak want to make one for every country/nation. More icons that way:) Seriously though, I would prefer the generic icon for personal coins rather than to see all NON-AMERICANS offended. Lynn Quote Link to comment
+The Blind Acorn
I'll give them a chance to fix an honest mistake as it would be kind of rude to use the eagle/USA icon for personal coins. Perhaps it's just a coding error, come down from the ledge folks. Quote Link to comment
Deego
I would think its an error as the Icon is also being used for HC coins. But only time will tell. Quote Link to comment

+AtlantaGal
It's gotta be an error and it might be tied into the new partnership between USA & Coins and Pins for the selling of coins produced for that venture that do not have a unique icon of their own. Quote Link to comment

+slumbersix
I personally like the icon. However, I'm positive this will not be the standard PC icon. Just chill out people and let stuff get sorted out. Quote Link to comment
+Nocturnal Navigators
What is the icon? I still see a cent sign for the PC icon. Maybe I'm just missing something here. Quote Link to comment

+slumbersix
You guys seriously can't think that they would do something like that. Put a little thought into it and realize there's a mistake somewhere. Programming errors happen and this seems to be one. Let it go and we'll see it get fixed soon. Quote Link to comment
+MustangJoni
I didn't start this thread to cause a panic! I'm so sorry. While I actually like the icon, I just think it doesn't fit for a personal coin icon. I think that is pretty obvious. I'm sure it is a mistake, because it sticks out like a sore thumb. Let's sit back and wait, and see which coin is going to get that icon. Quote Link to comment
+Cornerstone4
I would guess it's a mistake as well. On a positive note...they did get the Temecula Event coin icon updated! Quote Link to comment

Great looking icon (Temecula Event) ... Can't wait to get mine!... By the way the "eagle" icon still shows up if you click on the coin itself (PC or OK)........ Triffid Quote Link to comment

+MustangJoni
Okay, all is right with the world again. The old personal coin icon is back, and the one with the eagle is now the icon for the USA coin. Now I definitely think that is cool! Hey, I noticed that you can click on the icons and see the list of what you've logged under it, is that new? Edited February 23, 2006 by MustangJoni Quote Link to comment
+Mauison
The USA eagle icon is now used for the USA geocoins. An improvement over the USA flag icon, IMO. Quote Link to comment

+budd-rdc
I noticed this last night, too. People here are VERY quick in pointing out errors - Groundspeak's most efficient QA (Quality Assurance) Team. The Eagle design for the USA Geocoin is very dignified, I like it. Good thing there isn't a Geocoin with a rodent as an icon yet. Quote Link to comment

+Eartha
Is everyone happy now (about the icons)? I'm sorry I didn't see this thread until the issue was already cleared up. Just remember, things can appear right away while they are working on the system and we shouldn't be so quick to jump and shout before checking to see what's going on. Try to give the folks who run the machine some time to finish up what they are doing first, before jumping to conclusions. Thanks. Quote Link to comment

+altosaxplayer
Yes, it was the USA geocoin that was to get that icon Quote Link to comment
+Tharagleb
Now that the USA geocoin icon is MUCH better, it is time to tackle the Personal geocoin icon, my apologies to the designer, but that one is the drabbest of the lot. What is with the cent sign anyway? /can't draw a decent stick-figure myself. Quote Link to comment
