I ran into a couple shopping for a unit in REI and I directed them here for info. Their choices were the 60csx or the 76csx. Here are a couple reviews, and maybe you can add your preferences for their use.

Here is a review of the 60 csx: http://patrick-roeder.de/reviews/garmin_gpsmap_60CSx.htm

and the 76csx: http://gpsinformation.us/gps60c/g76Creview.html

You should look at the review as the review of the sam GPS.

There are very litle differenece between 60CSx and 76CS.

They are 100% the same internaly, both hardware and software.

The only differnce is the external layout. 76CSx has the button above the display and 60CSx below.

76CSx floats slightly better than 60CSx, due to its bigger case.

76CS has an 128MB MicroSD and 60CSx a 64MB MicroSD

You can go to this page and compare the two units:

I'm looking at thesse two (60csx vx 76csx) and am looking for the subtle differences also...

the base map, and pressure plotting (lost in the switch from 60cs to 60csx). I wonder if it was lost also in the 76csx? Battery life?

I would like to see a comparison of the 76csx to the 60csx like patrick roeder did.

I do not now.

Since I do not use the basemap I do not care.
