Two Ui Suggestion For Declined Waymarks And Unapproved Waymarks

Recommended Posts

Recently I've exploring the Northern Virginia countryside, and photographing the road side markers, Civil War Discovery trails, and anything else interesting I run across. Seems like pretty much anytime I sit down to actually add my waymarks, I end up getting interrupted, so I save without submitting more often than not.

Going back to that particular waymark wasn't that hard when I only had a handful of waymarks, but now that I'm at 3 pages of waymarks and growing, it can be a little frustrating picking up where I left off. I've noticed there are people who own more than a hundred waymarks, and I shudder to think about even trying to find the lone unapproved/declined waymark on those lists. I'd like to propose a toggle view on the My Waymarks page, so that you can quickly get to your inactive waymarks.

While this relates to the other UI suggestion, I think it would be helpful to show the most recent reason declined when you toggle your listings to "Show Declined". The other suggestion I had would add a timestamp to the "Declined By:" field on the Waymark Details page, along with a "Reason For Denial" field. I fixed one of my waymarks this morning as directed by the reviewer, and hit resubmit. I got the update success message on the next page, so I went out for the afternoon to take care of a few things. I got back about 10pm, and was checking the status of my waymark, since I never got another approval or declined email, although I did receive other email from Waymarking.com.

It was still showing as declined, so I clicked edit, and the submit for reapproval button was back. Not having received any other emails regarding this waymark, it left me in a bit of a quandary. Perhaps I misinterpreted the reviewer's instructions or my submit didn't really go through? If the waymark detail page listed the timestamp of the current denial, along with the reason for denial, it would leave me with a better idea of whether I need to just hit resubmit again or how to fix what was wrong. I know the reviewers are busy people, and I hate to bug them needlessly.
