+cynwood
I think that the category for trackables that are in ones possession should be divided into two. One for the TBs/Coins that need to be moved into another cache and another for ones which remain in the hands of the owner. I have only begun collecting geocoins. I like to activate them so that I can share them with others and they can discover them. I can already see though what a nuisance it can be for those that have 100+ coins in their collection. Going through that long list of trackables to find the TB that needs to be dropped into the cache that is being logged could be a pain. Edited December 19, 2006 by cynwood Link to comment
Aushiker
G'day Do you have an archived cache? If so, you can use that to "store" your inventory of coins that you do not intend to release. See http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...08-5152de74ceec to see an illustration of this approach. Well I am using my archived cache to hold my coins before releasing them into the wild. +Maingray
I mark my "collection" coins that are activated as "missing". They can be grabbed back from there easily enough for events etc. It gets rid of them from that list. Other people like to drop them into caches that they own that are archived, or unpublished inactive caches. Link to comment
markandlynn
I use a separate account to hold them after activating to the main account. Link to comment
+evelbug
I just mark them as missing (unknown loctation). I doubt TPTB would change anything since they are designed to travel and not be part of a personal collection. Link to comment
+WearyTraveler
Call me a purist (or an arse ) but I think that coins are best found in the wild. I really enjoy picking up a coin and taking it somewhere to drop it off into the wild again . I've yet to "discover" a coin or a TB just to get it in my stats. Oh well, with so many coins being "domesticated," it really is pretty exciting to find one in a cache... Link to comment
