Not sure if it's the caches we are doing now, we are more finicky about our equipment or age (of us or the equpment  , but we are selling this Magellan GPS 315 that has helped us find about 90 caches over the last few years. It works fine, it just feels like we'll just overshoot the cache more often these days and feel there's more accurate units out there (maybe its just an excuse to buy a unit with WAAS?!). Magellan says there's no tuneup available for the unit - either it works or not. It does work, it's just finicky / sluggish compared to what we expect - it'll say ground zero is 10' away, you move a bit then it'll say 70', etc. but then when you do go back and forth, it does find the cache and does say you are there! Hey, it is several year old technology? That said, it is a good machine and it has helped us find and hide loads of caches.

It comes with a cable that allows you to run it off of the cigarette lighter in the car, and connect the unit to your PC via a serial cable for communications with the appropriate PC software (not included) for uploading caches to the unit (we've done that) and I believe downloading of your routes, etc to the PC (I think it does that with the right software).

Here's a stock picture:

The unit overall looks good. There's some scuffs on the screen, but for most of the unit's life there was a plastic protector film over it, so it looks better than its age.

The GPS 315 and data cable, delivered by Priority mail to anywhere in the US is $60.

Great as an inexpensive way to get into the hobby, a spare unit, something for the kids to play with or as your primary unit, knowing that at least we feel it's sluggish / tree cover here in NJ causes the readings to jump around.
