jepp2
I'm just getting started in geocaching. So far I have upgraded to a Garmin Vista Hcx, have run Pocket Queries and loaded them into GSAK. I have a Dell Axim X5, and it looks like I can use CacheMate, GPXsonar, or GPXView for paperless caching. I've seached the forum for a comparison between the three options, but so far haven't found been able to find that review. Is there much difference? Please share your experience, and help me pick the best choice. If this has already been covered, and you can include the link to take me to it, please do so. thanks in advance for your help!!! +Miragee
The people who use a PPC seem to recommend GPXSonar more than the other programs, but others like the PPC version of Cachemate. I've been using Cachemate on my Palm for three years and like it. Quote Link to comment
StarBrand
I've used all three and GPXSonar is the best easily. However, all 3 will get the job done. Quote Link to comment
Rattlebars
I like GPX Sonar because of its Field Notes feature and the automatic "Time Stamp" feature and grab & drop TBs. Even though I don't use GSAK, one can export the notes to GSAK. I use a Magellan and can export Magellan Meridian waypoints to SD cards when I go caching with my Team who also have Magellans. +Chuy!
Use GPXSonar if it will work on your PPC. My new Samsung i760 with Windows Mobile 6 didn't like it; so, I have been using GPXView. It's freeware but a donation is appreciated. It doesn't have as many features as GPXSonar, but it gets the job done. I never tried cachemate for PPC. Quote Link to comment
DanOCan
I've been using Cachemate on my PPC and have zero complaints. I haven't tried GPXSonar yet so maybe I don't know what I missing. Quote Link to comment

Rattlebars
I neglected to mention that I'm running a Dell Axim x5 with Windows 2003. If your axim has only Windows 2002 you can get the upgrade to 2003 on eBay (Click here) for two bucks. edit for typo Edited May 16, 2008 by Rattlebars Quote Link to comment
