+trainlove
OK, the forum server burped this topic like so many recently. Here goes, from scratch. When one goes to a hide & seek a cache page and wants to find caches hidden or found by another geocacher, one has to EXACTLY spell their name completely. But when one is in My Account and does a Find another Player, you can type part of a name and get a list of close matches to choose from. Why isn't the same code used in all places where one can type in someone elses username? Re-reading a recent regurgitated Release notes thread reminded me of this. Here is part of that quote: Release Notes - Geocaching.com: Sept 16th Release 4418: Changed behavior of "Find a player" feature to be more intuitive Edited October 16, 2008 by trainlove Link to comment
+Parabola
Yeah it sounds like that has been overlooked. I don't use that feature very often so I guess I have never noticed but I do use the one in My account much more often than the hide & seek cache page. i wish I could say it was due to this but really I forget it's on that page and find the one in My account a little handier to find when I'm looking for another player.
