+Rainbow Brite
I just got a Colorado and I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the arrows to be N-S-E-W directions when you are searching for a geocache? Once I get the map on and am searching for a cache I hate how it just gives you a red arrow telling you what way to go. I loved on my Garmin 60cx how it would say NE 1.5 mi not an arrow pointing me on my way. ANY ideas on how to get the directional letters back instead of the arrow would be great!!!!! +SamSpade47
Since the Colorado and the Oregon are somewhat similar (and this works on the Oregon), give this a try: >Setup >Heading >Dispaly Select Directional Letters instead of Numeric Degrees Then go to the map page and change the Pointer Field to display the Heading instead of the Pointer. Here's a great resource for the Colorado: http://garmincolorado.wikispaces.com/ Quote Link to comment
+Red90
If you are NOT moving, it should give cardinal directions. It changes to an arrow if you are moving. Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
If I understand your question correctly, first go to your map screen and click Options in the upper left. Select Show Data Fields. Along the bottom of the map screen you should now see two semi-transparent boxes; Dist to Next, and Bearing. Then when you go to Geocaches and select one you want to seek, press the bottom of the Rock-n-Roll wheel twice, and then press the center "select" on the wheel. This will take you to the full map screen and displays the distance and bearing along the bottom. By following SamSpade47's steps you can choose between Cardinal Letters, Degrees, or Mils for the indicated bearing. Quote Link to comment
+Red90
No, I believe he means in the Geocache list screen. Like this. On this one we see cardinal letters. They change to arrows when you are moving. Edited May 13, 2009 by Red90 Quote Link to comment
