adopting caches

There are several caches that have continued to need maintenance and the owner's don't have valid email address and haven't been active for over one year. I've seen other caches adopted....how do I do it????

You don't do it, the cache owner does it. If you can not get a hold of the owner via email there is nothing you can do. If the caches are in dis-repair you could try a note saying you would like to adopt. If the owner does not respond after a couple weeks file a needs archived log. Once the cache is archive put your own cache there.

OK. I have a cache owner that would like me to adopt a couple of caches (he has moved away). How does he go about switching the owner of the cache to me?

This is the link your friend needs to go to allow you to adopt his cache. Just follow the instructions.
