Florida style, Miami style, Georgia style

I have seen several cache descriptions that say hidden "Florida style", "Miami style" or "Georgia style". I do not know what this means and I have had no luck finding a few caches that had this description. If I knew what these descriptions meant I might could find these caches. Please help!

Some trees are more conducive for hiding caches than others.

Seems a lot of localities have common hide types. I think florida=under palm leaves, Georgia = under pine straw (pine needles), Never heard anything for Miami.

From my experience, Florida style means film canister with soggy log.

This stuff is in constant flux and locally variable.

 

Florida style to me means under palmetto or palm fronds - usually on the ground

 

It's NOT in the boot jack of a palm, like the illustration above. But maybe that is how it's used in your area.

 

Miami style I haven't heard of, but I'd guess it IS in the bootjack of a palm, per the image above.

 

Georgia style is pretty consistently on the ground, under pine straw.

Florida Style = anywhere a palm frond meets the trunk of the tree. Palmetto bushes are used in a similar manner.
