Garmin 450T - How do I view Geocache hints?

I have a 450T and it is excellent. Wish I could say the same about the pdf manual.

 

I can download geocaches with coords and narrative, but not the hints. Somehow I managed to call one up on one occasion but I don't remember how.

 

Can anyone help a relative newbie of a couple of months please??

when your active waypoint is a geocache, then it's in the geocaching menu: view hint.

 

if this doesn't work, it may help to know how you load your caches onto your oregon.

Translation : you have to press "Go" first

 

Main menu -> Geocaches -> Find a geocache -> select one from screen.

 

You should see this screen. No hints in this screen, or the screen you get if you press on the cache name at the top. You need to press "Go"

 

 

You'll be in the map screen now. Exit back to the main menu, go back to Geocaches again. You should now see something like this (ignore the red li :

 

 

(actually you'll probably also have "Show Log" and some chirp stuff if chirp searching is enabled).

Thank you all - I've now cracked it thanks to your help.

 

I have to say I don't find the menu system too easy to follow, or maybe I'm thick

you may want to move the "geocaching" button to the first page of the main menu to make it easier to access, if it isn't already. go to setup > main menu and there you can reorder the items in your main menu and even completely hide some of them.
