+Gandalfrees
Is anyone in my position? I started caching seriously about a year ago. In the last couple of months my two children (grown up) have taken it up. I am just about to buy a premium membership. Would it be an idea for Geocaching to introduce discounts for further memberships in the same family? We like to cache together but we all have our own expeditions so we don't log as one , we all log seperately. $90 dollars is a bit much, especially as my two 'children' are at university! Couldn't you have one premium account, for downloading PM only info, PQ's etc and just log as Members? Quote Link to comment
+Manville Possum
My two kids have basic accounts but I'm a PM so I can have access to PQ's and all the other nice benefits. We log seperate on our finds too. Quote Link to comment
+JL_HSTRE
The common solution for a family with multiple accounts is to have one account be premium and the rest basic. If you need to log a PMO-cache, there is a 'backdoor' for the basic accounts to do so. Quote Link to comment

These are all there INTENTIONALLY and encouraged by GS for these types of situations. Quote Link to comment
+Gandalfrees
How can they log - they cannot see the cache details Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
You as the PM can see the cache details. Simply copy/paste the cache page and email it to them, or if they are still in the same city download to their GPSr with your account. All they need is the GC# and then they can use the mentioned back doors. Quote Link to comment

+The_Incredibles_
I post this one all my PMO caches. There are a number of kids here that are basic members, but go caching with their relatives who are PMO. Backdoor method: Logging for non-premium members, follow the link below, just enter the GC code and click log. http://www.geocachingadmin.com/ Other than that, I think $90 would be nothing compared to university tuition. +MartyBartfast
I haven't read all the above links for backdoor logging, but there's also another option now. If a non Premium member goes to the Geocaching.com maps link, and zooms out to the level where the PM caches are shown on the map (if you zoom in close the PM caches disappear); click on a PM cache icon, it will bring up the little box with the basic cache details, you can then click on the "Log It" link and it will take you to the page to log a find. If you click on the cache details you will still be blocked from accessing the cache page. Edited September 16, 2012 by MartyBartfast Quote Link to comment

I thought this was the direction this thread would go but did not offer my input on PMO listings and the back door that we use. Quote Link to comment
