+RWolfer & Wandering Wendy
I love all the things you have developed for us geocachers. I often check my friends to see what cache's they have been to recently. Could it be possible to have a watch list or a friends page so you would not have to always search by users found on the search page?? Just an idea. Link to comment
+Jamie Z
This has been suggested before, this so-called Watch-Another-User feature. I'm not sure what became of the idea, but I'd kind of like it. Jamie Link to comment

We used to have this feature when there was a stats site, but TPTB see such a thing as being competitive. Never mind that we have stats for posts and such in the forums, I guess it is ok to be competitive in here. Link to comment

I like to take my time and think about my posts, which would explain my low post count. Link to comment
Jeremy
I have some code completed with the concept of "friends" (not a new concept, but the way it is implemented is). You make a friend request and when it is accepted, you can select the option to watch that user. You will then get a notification whenever they log a travel bug, or a cache, or a benchmark. Once the benchmark section is completed as well as some other areas of the site, this feature will be implemented. Link to comment
+rickrich
why don't you just bookmark their url like This one for Jamie or am i missing something? I am more interested in what other people DIDN'T find. I wish there was a way to query on caches logged DNF by a particular user, or any cache logs by a particular user. The DNF entries are often longer and more amusing to read. Link to comment

Not gonna get into the pro-cons of stats, but Sax, you make it sound like TPTB gave them to us and then took them away. This site NEVER had cache stats like that. It was an outside site, and as I understand it, it wasn't shut down due to anything here. Simply a matter of the guy had piggybacked onto someone elses bandwidth for free, and when he lost that, there was no way he was willing to pay for it all out of pocket. Link to comment

From your wording, I assume that the 'friend' must approve before they can be watched. Is this correct? Edited January 3, 2004 by sbell111 Link to comment

+RWolfer & Wandering Wendy
WOW, when I made the suggestion, I was not expecting such a big response. Essentially, what I was looking for was a feature on the My Cache Page that would allow me to select the three people I constantly search for. I am currently in Kuwait and I check to see if my wife and friends have had any luck Geocaching. As it stands right now, you do not need permission or even a login to check to see if someone has logged any finds. You just have to know their user name. Thanks for all the feedback though.
