60c '&' Doesn't Work?

I have ver. 3.3 software and I was trying to enter a waypoint title using the little built in keyboard that pops up.

 

The title has a '&' in it but when I select and press the key nothing happens. There is no display of the symbol and the cursor does not move to the next letter space as though I made an entry. It simply sits there. "Keys" in the surrounding area work just fine.

 

Me or a software glitch?

For some reason, some characters aren't allowed in certain fields, even though they aren't "grayed out" or anything on the keyboard. There are probably other characters in addition to "&" that aren't allowed in waypoint names.

According to Garmin's protocol specification, that holds water.

City: ignored by GPS

State: ignored by GPS

Facility Name: ignored by

GPS Country Code: upper-case letters, numbers, space

Route Identifier: upper-case letters, numbers, space, hyphen

Route Waypoint Identifier: any ASCII character

Link Identifier: any ASCII character

Track Identifier: upper-case letters, numbers, space, hyphen

 

The USB update is silent on this topic.

 

Now, with that said, this document is somewhat fictional and they've been pretty flippant about adherence to it, so I won't fake shock (the anger, however, would be genuine) if I start getting bug reports if the character set changed.
