Mapsource Couldn't Be Launched Under Xp???

hi guys,

 

after i installed the mapsource way point manager. i found that it couldn't be launched then an error message was popping out " runtime error. programme:c\germin\mapsource exe. this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the application's support team for more information"

any of u guys here had encountered such problem and how did u deal with it?

Try downloading and installing the MapSource software version 6.3 Update. I'm running MapSource on Windows XP at work, so I know it should work. But I've never installed Trip & Waypoint Manager on any computer.

yea SP2 will do it, i hate that update it has done nothing but harm machines. I seriouly doubt its the cause but it could be. I wouldn t uninstall SP2 though. Try the update, if that doesnt work. Do a clean install of the software again, something might not have gotten install correctly or it wasnt saved in the right area and it is searching for it in another location. open windows explorer and do a search for c:garmin\mapsource.exe It will be nice when XP Longhorn comes out in a few months. It will cure alot of the XP problems and downfalls.

thx for the replies guys. the updater has already been installed but unfortunately, still the same.

i'd called my local dealer about this and they said they gonna email gamin.

once i got the solution. i'll post it here.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I am running Mapsource on an XP machine that has had the SP2 loaded without any trouble so far.
