peter Posted December 27, 2004 Share Posted December 27, 2004 Agreed. The Cobra looks like a pretty good deal but there have been lots of negative reviews. Until they demonstrate that they have their act together I'd stay away. The Venture lacks maps, but is otherwise a nice receiver. I second RK in suggesting that if at all possible you move up to the Legend to get mapping capability. The Magellan SporTrak Map and the Lowrance iFinder are two other good options at reasonable prices. Quote Link to comment

Try the "Garage Sale" forum, and have a look on eBay. They can often be found quite cheaply! Quote Link to comment
+JohnnyVegas Posted December 27, 2004 Share Posted December 27, 2004 Of those two the Venture, but a better choice would be the Legend or the Magellan Sport track map, Check the Garmin and Magellan web sites for any rebates, when they run rebates on the Legand of the Sport Track map the prices are about the same as the Venture. Though you didn't ask, I'd also take the Legend over the Venture. They're very close in price and the Legend has mapping while the Venture doesn't. Quote Link to comment
