Cache Log Photos

Recommended Posts

I've just taken delivery of a new computer, running XP, and the photos on the cache log page are not displaying correctly. The large view doesn't display at all and the thumbnails appear to be chopped off lower down. My old computer (98SE) never gave me any problems.

I have uploaded photos to other sites without a problem.

Any ideas for a quick fix?

Seveal people (including me) have had a problem like this due to firewall settings. (Are some icons also missing -- like the cache-type icon right next to the cache name at the top of the cache page?)

Are you using Norton, or eTrust, or a similar sort of firewall? If so, try disabling ad-blocking and see if that gets the pictures to work.

Edit: the above fix is what eTrust told me to try, and it is what has worked for several people here. How I ended up actually dealing with it, though, was that I switched browsers from IE to Firefox, and never did change the firewall settings -- somehow that made the problem go away.

Umm... I'm confused now. I have the same type problem with Firefox. The cache log photos don't show up like they are supposed to. In fact, in order to see anything bigger than a thumbnail I have to switch over to my Maxthon browser.

I am running WinXP (SP2), have AVG free and ZoneAlarm Pro. I'm not sure what Popup blocker you are talking about disabling... I REALLY don't want to do that. Please tell me there;s another way.
