seemonkeys
What does FTF mean? I mistook it for "failed to find". I have looked all over but can't seem to find out what it stands for. I'm unable to search for it because it is only 3 letters. Thank you and I apologize if the answer was right in front of my face. Quote Link to comment
+Marcie/Eric
FIRST to find. The first person to find the cache after the owner places it (or I guess approval). Edited April 7, 2005 by Marcie/Eric Quote Link to comment

There is a thread pinned to the top of this forum called Read First! Geocaching Frequently Asked Questions Many (most) newby questions can be answered there. Happy caching! Ed Quote Link to comment
+Cardinal Red
Hi seemonkeys. I wonder why that 4 character minimum is imposed on searches, but I never asked. I even tried a leading space, but I guess it gets stripped out. I just looked up Markwell's recent posts knowing I would find this easily. The Badge & the Butterfly gave you a link to the Groundspeak list, but check out the Link below for aditional lists. They are similar, but not identical. Check out all the Links in this thread. I think they covered them all Quote Link to comment

There is no way a noobie would know it, but you can search for #ftf and the software will get it. For some obscure reason known only to people who write in assembly language, the search software interprets the pound sign as a nul character. Quote Link to comment

+SilverMarc
To some, FTF means EVERYTHING. And some finders have listed STF in their cache logs when they didn't quite get there in time to be the FTF. I don't think a TTF listing would be saying very much, so I can't recall seeing it. --Marc April 16, 2005 @ 2:40 PM N40° 46.565' W073° 58.756' Quote Link to comment
