+Gitchee-Gummee
Could it be a browser vs 'Communicator' problem, more-so than "the device is not connecting to my mac"? Those are separate issues. If your mac "sees" or recognizes the 62s when plugged in (not through the browser), then it is a browser vs. 'Communicator' issue. Read this thread: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=328308 . Being a Premium Member, a solution is most likely pointed out in post #3 -- but I think you do need to unzip the downloaded file first (if it is downloaded as a zipped file). Note too, you may well solve the issue by switching to a different browser -- you did not specify which you are using. Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
Ok, the Garmin Communicator not finding your device is not the same thing as your device not connecting. Many browsers (most notably Internet Explorer) don't play nice with the Garmin Communicator, though recently Chrome has stopped supporting the Communicator plugin altogether, but that would cause a different issue. So, your other option is to use a browser that will, such as Firefox, or not use the communicator at all and use Pocket Queries to load your caches manually by drag n' drop. Now... maybe your device isn't actually connecting. You'd check this by seeing if it mounts as a drive on your computer. In other words, can you open up a or Finder window and see your GPS listed as a drive in the side bar? If yes, and you can access the contents of the device, your GPS has connected and mounted properly (stop here). If no, then you have a few more things to try before you decide your device is the problem (continue reading). You could have a bad USB port (unlikely if other devices connect with that port, but it's worth a try). Does it connect if you use a different USB port? It could be a bad USB cable. Try another cable and see if it connects. If it still doesn't connect, will it connect to another computer? If it still doesn't connect, then the problem might be with your GPS.
