Garmin 30 day trial not working

I just bought a Garmin Oregon 650. I have registered it with Garmin and loaded Communicator 4.2.0. When I go to the link in the help center to add the 30 days to my existing membership, the wheel just spins and never detects my unit. I tried this with both Firefox and Internet Explorer with the same results. I wasn't sure whether to ask in this forum or report it as a bug. Thanks.

Register it via http://www.geocaching.com/garmin/freetrial.aspx

 

Using Internet Explorer? Try Compatibility Mode. (Or use Firefox or chrome)

You have logged out, then back in again... have you not?

 

 

EDIT: Duh... OK, you are just 'extending' your PM. Got it.

 

I'd go with the compatibility mode.

 

 

 

Try this too -- without ANY browser activated, does the computer recognize the unit, when plugged in and turned on? Check to see if there is a Garmin [Drive] listed. If so, then it is a browser problem, not the unit or computer problem.

Strange. I had been meaning to register the Montana I got a couple of months ago so having seen this post thought I'd give it a go. Plug in detects my Montana without any issue, but when I try the link to extend my membership the wheel icon just spins as reported by the OP. Tried Compatibility Mode (and Firefox) but still no joy so will be interested in any other ideas :)

I was able to extend my PM successfully using Chrome on Windows 8. That was earlier this year or late last year after I got my 62s.

I had the same problem.I emailed Groundspeak and they manually added it to my account. :D I hope this helps!
