+CacheDeposit
Am getting notices concerning a TB that says I own it. In my personal info it says I have NO trackable items in my inventory. How can I get rid of that puppy? Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
Am getting notices concerning a TB that says I own it. In my personal info it says I have NO trackable items in my inventory. How can I get rid of that puppy? If it's the "Log My Dog Tag", you do own it and so receive notifications of its travels: http://coord.info/TB7HFQW It's not in your Inventory because it's logged in a cache's Inventory. If you wish to relinquish ownership, it could be adopted to anyone, but for the most options, it's good if the cacher adopting the item has it in their hands at the time. This is one of the tags for a dog’s collar, right? Maybe on the tag’s page, post something like this: “If you retrieve this tag and would like it for your dog, send me an email. I can adopt the tag to you.” See this info on adopting a Trackable: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=249 The Log My Dog tags are designed to be with the dog. Cachers may log "Visits" to caches their dog visits, and track his mileage. Other cachers may "Discover" the dog's tag. It's then used in a different way than just being placed into caches as any ordinary tag (although of course it works that way, too). Edited November 30, 2015 by kunarion Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
As Kunarion mentioned, you do own a trackable and I suspect those are the notifications you are receiving. I'm not sure why you would want to stop receiving notifications of its travels because that is pretty much the point of trackables, tracking them. It appears that one cacher has been holding on to it and "dipping it" so you received frequent notificatins. It appears that he finally placed it in a cache. You should get fewer notifications once it is traveling naturally. If you don't want notifications it's not the best idea to release trackables in the first place. As Kunarion also mentioned, you can find another cacher who will adopt it from you and you won't have to worry about notifications after that. Pup Patrol
Am getting notices concerning a TB that says I own it. In my personal info it says I have NO trackable items in my inventory. How can I get rid of that puppy? In your profile, click the "trackables" tab. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?id=9276 You will see your "owned" trackables on the right side. B. The OP should only have received 3 emails for that trackable: one each for the discover and retrieve on November 14th, and one for the drop on November 28th. Quote Link to comment
