Recommended Posts

I have recently upgraded from 450 to 650 oregon and the with screen sensitivity on normal setting I have problems with the icons changing when in my pocket.when I look at the gps a second time I have problems recognizing it is mine. Is there a setting I am missing to lock them where I set them? thanks Ken

I have a Garmin clamshell case, which makes random taps much less likely. It doesn't fit in most pockets, but has a carabineer clip.

You can assign a user key to lock the screen:

Set the power button or user button to turn the screen on/off, or employ the lock screen function from the Status Page. I personally set my 650t to turn the screen on/off when double pressing the user button.

Yeah, I second this. There's no reason why your screen should always be displaying something. Turn on battery save mode which will automatically turn the screen off after a determined amount of time (I find 30 seconds to be ideal) and set one of the user button functions to turn the screen on/off.
