What does the term 'geo-obvious' mean?

As in the following clue I read recently:

Geo-obvious - three-way fork in a birch tree

Does it mean that it's obvious that I should look there? Or that it's obvious it should be hidden there, but it's not? Or something else entirely?

Thanks,

Better go out, check, and report back! ;)

But seriously, GZ often has "obvious" places to put a cache, which everyone but a beginner will recognize, especially if there is only one likely place in the area. So I'll bet the cache *is* in the three-way fork.

I don't think I've seen/heard the term before, but I would think "geo-obvious" is a location or placement that an experienced geocacher would know to immediate check, but a non-geocacher would not usually notice. An unusual pile of rocks, sticks, or palm fronds (depending on your location) or a lamp post skirt would places I would consider "geo-obvious".

In this case, the line I provided was in the hint. The line which follows this one in the hint actually tells you where NOT to look as it is even more obvious. Unfortunately, I did find the geo-obvious one but it was a DNF for the cache. Looks like a hike back is in order.

Thanks for the replies.
