nineclicks
I only have a few finds. Assuming I follow the guidelines very thoroughly, could this still prevent one of my caches from being approved? Quote Link to comment

Your cache will be evaluated on the same terms as anyone else's. The number of finds is not one of the criteria used in reviewing. If there are issues preventing your cache from being reviewed, they would also apply to a hider with 2000 finds. Quote Link to comment
+Chief301
Would it prevent you from getting your cache approved? No, there's no requirement for number of finds before you are allowed to hide one. Should you still hold off awhile? I say yes. You only have two finds and started playing two days ago. My advice would be to keep playing as a finder for now....gain some experience regarding the different types of hides out there, what seems to work well and what doesn't. Read the guidelines for hiding caches and then read them again. When you hide a cache you are making a commitment to care for that cache long-term....make sure you're going to be playing this game for awhile. Once you're sure you understand the rules and the responsibilities of a cache owner, and feel like you're ready to fulfill that commitment, then go for it! Quote Link to comment
+K13
When you read and understand the Guidelines for cache ownership, you will see that owning a cache is a LONG-TERM COMMITMENT. You are responsible for maintaining that cache for the duration, and some are going on fifteen years (or a little more). Why not find a few different kinds of caches, to see what all this game has to offer, before you make yours? Quote Link to comment
+jellis
Not long after I started I adopted some from a cacher who was moving. After I got used to taking care of them and what the game was all about, I created my own. I started caching in May of 2006, by July I don't remember how many finds I had but I placed my first one across the street from my work. Nine years later that first one is still going strong with 584 finds on it. Edited July 21, 2015 by jellis Quote Link to comment
+WarNinjas
I would suggest finding more but we started hiding pretty quickly. Its all up to you. I would remember you might become friends with many local cachers so you might want them to be cool hides for them to get to know you by! Quote Link to comment
