+Rewels
OK. I've prepared a box with goodies and a Log Book. Found a nice safe place to hide it. Entered the details on the web site. When can people have a go and find it? who publishes it? Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
OK. I've prepared a box with goodies and a Log Book. Found a nice safe place to hide it. Entered the details on the web site. When can people have a go and find it? who publishes it? If you have properly submitted the cache for review, you should receive an email telling you that the submission has been received. If you haven't received that email from Groundspeak, then your submission did not get sent correctly. Make sure that you can receive emails from noreply@geocaching.com, that they don't get sent to your spam folder. Help Center http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php Hiding a Geocache http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=19 1.4. My geocache has not been reviewed http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=81 From the Guidelines: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx Geocache must be in place before you enable the listing. Your cache should be in place and ready to be found at the time your cache listing is enabled online. If the cache is not ready for seeking, disable your cache listing so that it won't appear in the review queue and post a Reviewer Note explaining special circumstances, such as awaiting permission from a land manager. +Touchstone
OK. I've prepared a box with goodies and a Log Book. Found a nice safe place to hide it. Entered the details on the web site. When can people have a go and find it? who publishes it? Listings are submitted to a Review Queue, where Volunteer Reviewers take a look at each and every Listing submitted to make sure that it adheres to the Guidelines (see Pup Patrol's well crafted reply), and to any/all local applicable laws/regulations. Volunteer Reviewers are usually local (and I think the UK has 4 or maybe 5 Volunteers), with a great deal of experience and knowledge of the area that they are responsible for. Just as an aside, make sure that your Listing is Enabled. I only bring this up, because it seems like many people miss this nuance of the process. There should be a big green "button" at the top of your Listing page which states, "Submit for Review". Once you click on that, your Listing will appear in the Review Queue, where one of the Volunteers can assist you, and help you get your Listing Published. Good luck! Quote Link to comment

+Chief301
OK, looks like you found the Submit button. Now just sit back and wait for your cache to be published. Just be aware that the approval MAY take up to 7 days. It usually doesn't take that long in reality, but it could take a day or two. Reviewers are volunteers and while they try to publish caches as quickly as possible, they do have lives and real jobs In my experience it usually takes a day or two, but they sometimes get published in a matter of hours. +popokiiti
Congratulations on your first hide - I see it has been found! Sound like an interesting area, with few caches.....I bet you place one or two more. It has been many years since I visited Scotland and I loved the scenery and the people. Quote Link to comment
