+Team-Budje66
Hello all Today I started with Geocaching with a Garmin GPSMap 62 ST. I loaded multiple caches to my GPS with USB cable. I found two of the caches today. I reported 1 of them bye Android App Geocaching by FOUND IT. The other one I pushed the button on my GPS as FOUND. Just to try 2 methods. But how can I get that FOUND signal back from GPS to my Geocaching account? If my GPS is not attached to laptop, I can see the status FOUND. But if attached to laptop its a USB-drive and I cant find the option to import that FOUND signal to Geoaching.com. Also no in the webpage. Ihop sombody can explain it to me.? Thank in advance. +The A-Team
What you've done is create what's called a "field note" on your GPS. These field notes are stored in a text file on the GPS, and you can upload this file to the website where you can then convert the field note to a full-fledged log. The following Help Center article describes how to do this: Help Center: 4.6. How do I upload field notes? Once the field notes have been uploaded, each one will have a link next to it to "Compose Log". When you click this, you'll be brought to the log creation page for the respective cache, with the date and log type already filled in. All you need to do is type up your log and submit. The beauty of using field notes is that there's no doubt about whether you're logging the correct cache; when you create the field note on your GPS, you know it's for the cache you just navigated to. Edit: Whoops, I just realized this is a duplicate discussion and the question has already been answered here. Edited March 4, 2015 by The A-Team Quote Link to comment
