Trouble logging my first TB

Hi!

My girlfriend got me a Geocoin for Easter and now I would like to get started with it. Before I dropped off my own coin somewhere I wanted to move some other Travel Bugs to get used to the concept. However, I got really confused when I found a TB in a cache yesterday:

1) The cache description said that TB "Dolphin" should be in there. When I got there and opened the box TB "Dolphin" was not there. Do I have to update anything on "Dolphin"'s TB site?

2) Instead, I found TB "Intel" in the box. When I entered the code for "Intel" online it said that it should be in quite a different cache. Why is "Intel" in the wrong cache? Did somebody forget to report that he put it in the new cache? Do I have to update "Intel"'s site?

3) Well, I wanted to help "Intel" on its mission. It said something like: Take me from Italy to California via Amsterdam and then take me back to Italy. How am I supposed to know at which stage of its mission the cache is right now? Do I have to read its entire history?

4) Let's assume this cache would have been in the middle of nowhere with no mobile data. Can I simply take the TB out and report this later? It may turn out that the cache wants to travel South while I accidentally take it North...?!

Thank you!

Well your point #4 is a possible answer to the first 2. Or maybe people didn't have time to log those into and out of the proper caches yet. Or maybe they didn't know how to log.

Yasser for point #3, yes you do have to read it's history to find out its history. There is a map that shows its travel.

Back to point #4. Geocaching is a game, not an app. So yes there are times where you will not be able to use your cell phone. Back before apps, people did that all the time. If you took it north, and it wanted to go south, perhaps place it in a cache south of you. If the owner wanted it to go directly to somehwere, they would have mailed there. That's part of the fun.
