+TeamLundr
I started having problems with my 62s this morning. Initially it would just turn on, start loading waypoints and then just shut off. I found a solution on a garmin forum which recommended installing a recovery file. This worked and the unit now powers up correctly. However, I can no longer get my PC to recognize the device. I have re-installed the drivers, tried a new cable and tried a different laptop, all without success. I found a solution which recommends holding the up arrow while plugging the unit into the usb port. When I do this, the usb symbol on the GPS is displayed for a few seconds, then the device powers off. One other thing -- When the device powers on the display shows "Invalid JNX file" with an OK button. If you press OK, the unit seems to go into normal operation(with the exception that you cannot hook it up to the computer). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. +TeamLundr
Thanks. I've tried the boot block numerous times. I get different results each time, but no successes. Sometimes the Web Updater doesn't see the device at all. Sometimes it sees it, starts to update for a while, but eventually returns an error message saying that it can't communicate properly with the device. Sometimes the device just shuts off while the Updater is searching for the device. Quote Link to comment
+MtnShasta
Here is a link that might help. http://garmingpsmap.wikispaces.com/Miscellaneous I had a similar problem and it happened to be a corrupted GPX file. I'm guessing that if you force it to USb Mass Storage mode you at least get at the .jnx file. Quote Link to comment
