Can't log out, Geocaching messages notification won't clear

So I'm logged in to geocaching.com in three different browsers - chrome, safari, and firefox. I'm logged in as another user in firefox. So I'm logged in as KBLAST in safari and chrome, and as another user in firefox. I can't log out of my accounts. I press log out on the profile page, but it doesn't work. I tried clearing the cache to see if that would help, no luck. Also, I have the little notification in the top right corner saying I have a message in the Geocaching Message Center. I keep going, and I keep checking my messages, but that notification won't go away this time.

Anyone else having trouble? Any suggestions to fix this?

Windows machine, Firefox 47.0.1 Greasemonkey off.

I just tried the log out button on my private profile - see image below.

Clicking that keeps me logged in, and directs me to the Search page, still logged in under my palmetto account.

I'll see if there's some other route to log out...

FWIW Exactly the same happens to me.

But up on the top banner, between your name and the "messages" link there's a box with a downward pointing arrow, click that and select "Sign out" and that works for me.

Looks like our replies crossed in the Ether :)

I just had that same problem trying to clear the message indicator. I finally "deleted" (hid) all the previous messages and the number 1 disappeared, but about half an hour later I received a message from a geocacher. Since this was the first one in days, i suspect that maybe the message indicator got alerted to the new message before the message actually appeared in the message center, much as my Gmail inbox will show a bold number indicating new mail before the mail actually appears in my inbox.
