Mapping Programs

Hey I am sorry if this topic is already out there but what type of mapping software do you all recommend that allows you to plot points and projecting points. Also if it allows you to plot a point and then be able to find a point by using three locations and a distance diameter.

i use my smartphone and locus (free/pro) for everything, normally running airplane mode (offline), no additional software needed.

 

first i faked some cache locations, moon/turtle/etc caches with cache radius circles

 

added 1200ft radius circles to find centre:

 

projecting a waypoint from that center:

 

plotted a trail to take along contour lines:

 

it's usually harder to upload the screenshots and link to them, then to do the projections and stuff.

I tend to do these things on my PC and I use Garmin's Basecamp.
