[Feature] remove found and disabled from home page quick search

When you first open the website you are greeted with a search box to perform a quick search.

I find this the quickest way to find the closest caches to my current location.

On the result page you have a tick box to chose to display beginner caches or not.

I would like to see two more tick boxes added.

One to filter out caches you have already found and another to filter out caches that are disabled.

I realize you can click the new search link but then you have to manually input all information because there is no option to search near current location on that page.

I also realize that you can click map this location and then have the ability to filter them out, however this then means I'm being forced onto an icon based search instead of a list based search in order to get the feature I want.

I think the addition of these two tick boxes would greatly streamline the quick search page and make it more appealing to more users.

Not sure if this would help you or not but,, you could just set up a favorite page link that takes you straight to a list of your closest unfound caches. In my case, i set this as the homepage in my browser. It's the first page that comes up when i open my browser. You do have to keep the "remember me" box ticked on gc.com for this to work.

there is no filter out finds on the list view only on the map view.

That's what I want a filter out finds and disabled option on the list view

While what you say is true...

The list shows your finds with a grey-colored field; unfound as a white-colored field; your hides as a yellow-colored field. Just the same as highlighting the beginner caches with a green-colored field.

Not to mention the Smiley, Star, or nuttin in the column preceding the cache name field.

Sorry, but I view this request as being redundant to with what already exists. :(

Go to http://www.geocaching.com/my/

Look on the right side of the page in the "Search Options" section, then the second link under "Search for Geocaches" is labled Filter Out Finds. That won't remove disabled caches from the list but it will exclude caches you have already found. If you want to exclude disabled caches from the list you'll want to use Pocket Queries.

By the way, you can also search from the Home page and when results are displayed add &f=1 to the end of the URL in your browser and reload the page. That will also exclude finds.

well it's not redundant as they are still on the list weather they have a smiley next to them or not, this makes the list considerable longer than it needs to be.

And the search for geocaches link in your profile is only around your home location not your current location.

Ok so you can add to the URL manually to do half of it but this is about making things simpler.
