+GeoLog81
From some time I observe that geocaching.com is extremelly slow on evenings (for example now, about 19 GMT) Loading a cache site or pocket queries list can take about a minute. Is anything to be done about it? I understand things are going hot when the people come home and start logging daily founds, but it was also said this geocaching site is pay to play, but you receive better hosting quality and performance, which last time is not specially the case... +Chrysalides
Since you're in Europe, it could also be congestion on the Internet over at your end. I notice slow downs on weekends, but not normally at 11 a.m. Pacific time. Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
Depending on your internet provider, it may not be just geocaching. If everyone is on at the same time, the internet will be slow, no matter what website you're on, on what you download. Think of it like rush hour; more people on the roads, so you can't go as fast as if they are empty. not saying this is the case, but it could be. I cannot say anything on the situation during the week, but I know that at weekends gc.com can sometimes be extremely slow at the times provided by the OP and no, it is not the internet which is slow at these times. There is hardly any site I can think of that is equally slow. There are weekends where the site is reasonably fast and other where one betters waits with logging.
