+Aerocrat
The App is running successfully but it is not clear which version of the cartridge I should be using. I have selected the Garmin Colorado which works but I am not sure if it is the most appropriate choice. I would appreciate any comments or advice that anyone may have. Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
From my understanding of device differentiation, you can use the Pocket PC one as it's less limited. The entire reason behind choosing your device stems from device capability. For instance, the Garmin Wherigo Player is unable to play sound files not specifically encoded for the device while the Wherigo Player for Apple devices is able to play standard sound files. The original idea behind this device differentiation is that Wherigo authors could specify which media file to use based on device, with the Pocket PC version being "as designed" (and, hence, fully featured). It's my understanding that this is not commonly done on most Wherigo cartridges. The short answer to your question is it doesn't make much of a difference which device you choose unless it is supposed to make sounds. Stick with downloading Pocket PC cartridges and you won't have a problem. ----------- On another note, I see this is your first post. Welcome to Groundspeak's forums and, in particular, the Wherigo forum. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have! We have a wonderful community here. Quote Link to comment
+LasVegasBones
Does anyone have an idea how I can correct direction on my iPad? The arrow simply would not point the correct direction I should walk. It did not matter if I were using Magnetic North, True North or North Up. Thankfully I was with two other cachers...one with iPhone, another with Colorado Garmin. My Montana won't accept Wherigo so I purchased iPad specifically for this. Many thanks for any help...oh yes I waved the iPad in the eight configuration to calibrate it. Quote Link to comment
+VPauleN
I use an iPad as well. Try this: Go back to the menu Open the map Go back to the menu Go back to the locations In most cases the arrow is displayed correctly. Quote Link to comment
