Best way to figure out a cipher

Still fairly new here but I am working on a cipher and just can't figure out which type it is. I have googled and used paper. I have figured out some, I think, but one part is just different. What are some of your ideas (or websites) that you have used in your previous ciphering caches to help figure out what type of cipher you were dealing with? Thanks.

Look for anything that is the approximate number of digits in a coordinate and really concentrate on that area. Google some of the phrases and words on the listing - just see what comes up. Check for hidden (white text). Check for exif information in photos. Check the HTML for clues.

Many cipher-based puzzle caches include hints about the type of cipher used. Sometimes the clues are anagrams. Sometimes they are references to people who invented/popularized the cipher. Sometimes they are oblique references to the mechanism(s) used by the cipher. Or they could be something else entirely.

Looks like you are trying to solve this one. Looks like a real challenge. Good luck.

Well, I won't publicly say which I'm trying to solve because I don't want it to be exposed to everyone , but the one I am working on, I believe I found something I overlooked earlier. Tomorrow I will know for sure and I'm feeling pretty good about it.
