Questions about releasing a trackable.

I already have a couple of trackables out there but these were released localy.

As mentioned in a previous post I am going to Canada in the summer.

I want to take a Travel Bug Origins Nederland with me and release it into a Canadian cache.

Now since it actually started in this country I would like to include the mileage of it travelling to Canada so how do I go about that?

Do I drop it into a local cache and immediately retrieve it so a starting point is set or can I just log it as visiting a cache and will it then track mileage from there?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but i'm still trying to get my head around how these things work.

You don't need to do the drop & retrieve any more.

One log, "visit", accomplishes that in one step.
