bintz
Hey there! First off, sorry if Im not 100% clear, Im not a native speaker. A few days ago, I went premium to have access to pocket query and premium caches. Next week Im going abroad (Mallorca) so I made a pocket query with every cache on the island that doesn't need a climbing/long hike. On the website, I can use it just fine but I don't understand how I'm supposed to load it into my iPhone. When I launch the app, I can search near my location, make an advanced search or use a PQ but when I enter that last option, it tells me I have no PQ yet and that I should go to geocaching.com to create one... which is exactly what I did! What did I do wrong? Extra question: what do I exactly get from a PQ? Description, coordinates, hints, photos, map tiles? Thanks in advance for your answers! Quote Link to comment
Walts Hunting
Go to the website and see if one was generated and is in the available for download page. I am betting it never generated which usually is because you didn't select a day. PQ's have most cache info. Not sure about pictures and I don't think maps. Quote Link to comment
bintz
Thanks for the answer. Ok so I went back to my PQ properties and selected thursday (today), I also selected the option saying to uncheck the day after it's done. But I don't have anything in the "available for download" tab, even after selecting a day. Do I have to wait for it to be generated even though I can see it instantly on the website? +bintz
Nevermind, it updated a few minutes later and I can now view it into my phone without problem. Thanks a lot for your help! Quote Link to comment
Walts Hunting
It can sometimes take a long time. There is a set of guidelines on where it fits in line. If it is the first time or hasn't been run in some time it will probably only take a few minutes. If it is one you ran yesterday then it goes to the back of the line. Quote Link to comment
Chief301
When you select the PQ option in the app it will download any PQ's that you currently have generated. I'd recommend being in a Wi-Fi area when you do this, it will be a big chunk of data. It will also give you the option to download only the cache info or the relevant map tiles as well. If you want to avoid using data abroad, either because you'll be in an area where cellular data is not available or because of roaming charges, it would be wise to download the map tiles as well.
